Want to review grant proposals for the Office of Citizenship?
This looks like a great opportunity for citizenship advocates all over the country.
The Office of Citizenship (OoC) within U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) is seeking subject matter experts to serve on grant review panels during the month of June 2010. These subject matter experts will assist in the review of two competitive funding opportunities available to organizations preparing lawful permanent residents for citizenship. Prior experience evaluating federal grant applications is required, and familiarity with immigrant service programs in the areas of English as a Second Language, citizenship instruction, and naturalization preparation is highly desirable. Potential reviewers will be screened for conflict of interest and relevant experience. Non-federal grant reviewers may receive compensation. Individuals interested in submitting their name for consideration should send an email with their contact information by May 21, 2010 to: Aja.Baker@dhs.gov
