Terrific new resource from APALC
free workbook and videos in several languages
I have a new favorite resource on my list: "Citizenship 101: Your Guide to Citizenship," a free on-line video and workbook download produced by the Asian Pacific American Legal Center of Southern California.
These bilingual materials explain:
- Benefits and responsibilities of citizenship
- Citizenship requirements
- The application
- The interview and civics test
The video is approx. 1 hour, 20 minutes. It covers the basics of U.S. citizenship and steps in the naturalization process. There are separate versions in English, Cantonese, Hindi, Korean, Mandarin, Tagalog, and Vietnamese. In the second half of the video, in English only, there are sample interviews and civics exam questions/answers.
The 64-page companion workbook provides additional information about citizenship (in English). It includes tips on completing the citizenship application and preparing for the interview. It is available as a free download.
You can see these new materials on APALC website at: http://www.apalc.org/?page=citizenship
You can also order a DVD/workbook set at this site for $10.
